John Larson
As I reflect on this journey, I am inspired to refine my teaching methods, enhance inclusivity, and further cultivate an environment that fosters well-being and self-discovery. The path of yoga teaching is a continuous learning process, and I am excited to embrace the lessons and opportunities that lie ahead.
My Yoga Story
Embarking on the journey of teaching yoga has been a profound and transformative experience, particularly in the context of my Yoga Therapy's. The essence of yoga Therapy lies in selfless service and the act of giving, and it was through this lens that I designed my sessions to create a holistic and enriching experience for my clients. In my sessions I teach sequence, focusing on yoga breathing and the exploration of subtle bodies (emotional, spiritual, intellectual, and physical), while also acknowledging areas for improvement and sharing insights gained from this meaningful endeavor.

Viniyoga + Ashtanga yoga + Hatha yoga = Vinyasa yoga
My teacher is Michelle Young and her direct lineage comes from Krishnamacharya. Young's teacher, Shanti Kelley, studied under Annie Carpenter, creator of a system of Vinyasa known as SmartFLOW. Carpenter studied under Jois and Maty Ezraty — an Italian yoga teacher who also studied under Jois. Since then, Young has continued the Krishnamacharya lineage, taking up studentship with Richard Miller who studied directly under Desikachar.
